The Investigation

Tracking Titian's Treasure

The Investigation Goes to London & Italy

In late 2026, the investigation moves into the field. Beginning in London, with the painting itself, we follow the evidence into Italy — through a network of cities, archives, collections and locations connected to the investigation — reaching a pivotal moment in Rome on 8 December 2026.

The Field Journey

The investigation begins in London, with the painting itself — then takes flight, following the evidence into a network of locations across Italy.

The locations are known.
The route is not fixed.

Fine Art Detective follows the evidence rather than a predetermined itinerary. The sequence may evolve as research develops, access becomes available and new evidence emerges — as it recently has, bringing Milan into the investigation.

The Painting. The Provenance. The Pursuit.

London

Where the Journey Begins

The journey begins in London, with the painting itself. Before the investigation follows the evidence into Italy, we return to the object at the centre of it — examining, documenting and filming the work from which decades of research have grown.

One journey. Many investigations.

Some questions cannot be answered from a distance.

Not a single trip — a foundation

What the expedition creates

The expedition does not end when the team returns home. It is designed to generate research and production material that keeps the investigation moving long afterwards — and, in time, may open investigations we have not yet imagined.

A Pivotal Moment

Rome

8 December 2026

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception

The field journey is timed to reach Rome on a fixed and significant date — a pivotal moment in the investigation rather than its end. Its deeper investigative relevance will be set out as the research is prepared, and the wider Fine Art Detective enquiry continues beyond this chapter.
